Mary Beth Sheridan Named President of Jonathan Adler Home Decor Brand
Jonathan Adler has named a new president and it’s a familiar name from within the apparel and retail industry.
Mary Beth Sheridan, a veteran of Lord & Taylor, Macy’s and Anthropologie, has joined the home decor brand to spur growth under its new owners, Consortium Brand Partners.
Consortium acquired a majority stake in Jonathan Adler in December 2024 alongside American Exchange Group, which is a “strategic minority partner.”
In her new role, Sheridan will work alongside Adler to strengthen the core business, evolve product strategy, and connect with more customers, the company said.
Sheridan served as chief merchandising officer at Anthropologie Home & Beauty from 2020 to 2023 and then joined The Children’s Place in the same role for a year. At Anthropologie, she oversaw merchandising, digital strategy, design and product storytelling across direct-to-consumer channels and is credited with building those divisions into strong categories for the retailer.
Before that, she served in various merchandising roles in both apparel and home for Macy’s for eight years and worked for Lord & Taylor for 14 years in a variety of positions, including senior vice president of merchandising for men’s and kids’ and senior vice president and head of stores.
“Mary Beth brings an exceptional combination of strategic vision and hands-on execution, and we are thrilled to welcome her to Jonathan Adler,” said Jonathan Greller, president and cofounder of Consortium Brand Partners. “Following the acquisition of Jonathan Adler, Mary Beth will be a leader in growing the brand.”
“As a longtime fan of Jonathan Adler, I am excited to join this incredible team and contribute to the growth of this beloved brand,” said Sheridan. “I’ve always admired Jonathan Adler’s unique design, wit and joy, and look forward to getting Jonathan’s incredible designs into the hands — and homes — of even more people.”
“Mary Beth is a smart, strategic, seasoned retail exec, and I look forward to tapping into her experience and working with her to bring my vision of modern American glamour to more products, places, and people,” said Adler, chief creative officer.
After graduating from Brown University with a degree in art history and semiotics — the study of signs — Adler became a potter full time, selling his wares at crafts fairs. Barneys New York placed an order in 1993 and five years later, he opened his first store in SoHo selling textiles, tabletop and furniture. Today, the brand operates 10 of its own stores and counts more than 1,000 points of sales globally.
