Wife Shocked to Find Bones Being Used as ‘Decor’ After Husband Cleans

A man has unintentionally taken “upcycle” to a new level by using dog treats as mantelpiece ornaments.

In a funny TikTok video by his wife Samantha (@lifewith_samantha), she zooms in on the fireplace decor. It features a mirror and two matching jars on either side, but the symmetry stops there – with two marrow bones placed on the right side.

The text layered over the clip explains that her husband “cleaned, and now the dog bones are décor.” While it may not be for everyone, TikTok users are all for it, and the video has been a huge hit online—racking up over 529,000 views since it was shared on August 4.

The clip captioned “he tried” insinuates that cleaning isn’t a regular chore carried out by the husband. This wouldn’t be unheard of, as research has previously revealed that women are up to six times more likely to say that they only clean the bathroom and do the laundry than men are.

According to the YouGov survey of 1,314 adults in the United Kingdom, an average of 8 percent of women say they never do any of the housework, compared to 15 percent of men. But this doesn’t mean men aren’t pulling their weight. The findings revealed men are more likely to do jobs outside of the home, such as taking out the trash and gardening.

Judging by the comments section of this clip, more men may be required to channel their inner interior designer as the bones have won the internet over.

“Well spooky season IS coming soon so I think it’s a win,” wrote one user.

“I think the dog will appreciate his art work being displayed too,” one commenter said, and a third user agreed, “DOGS POV: wow I love what you’ve done with the place.”

Samantha told one user: “They are still there actually kinda growing on me for the spooky season. Also, [the] comment section invented dog decor, dogorations & someone mentioned my dogs would like to see their artwork displayed.”

Three days ago, she shared another video showing more “dogcorations” in her home, including transforming bone marrow into candles.

This isn’t the first time owners have been savvy with their pet’s belongings. Another owner previously turned her dog’s crate into a stylish piece of home decor in just 12 hours.

“I hated the ‘black cage’ in our living room, but Cookie really needs this as it is her own safe space to rest ever since she was a puppy. So, my husband came up with the idea to cover it up,” the Australian labradoodle owner told Newsweek.

Newsweek reached out to @lifewith_samantha for comment via TikTok. We could not verify the details of the case.
