With additional projects underway, the CRA aims to continue supporting residents and improving housing quality throughout the redevelopment area.

The City of Apopka Community Redevelopment  Agency (CRA) is proud to announce the completion of the first home renovation project under its Residential Renovation Assistance Program (RRAP). The project, totaling $24,073,  included the replacement of the home’s roof and windows—critical improvements that enhance both safety and energy efficiency.

The RRAP provides funding for exterior improvements to owner-occupied homes within the  CRA district. The program is designed to support neighborhood revitalization, improve housing quality, and assist homeowners in addressing essential maintenance needs. Eligible residents can receive up to $30,000 per property for qualified repairs, including roofing, window and door replacements, exterior painting, and other structural or aesthetic upgrades. 

“The completion of this first project marks an important milestone in our effort to strengthen  Apopka’s neighborhoods,” said Antranette Forbes, Economic Development Director. “This investment not only improves curb appeal but also enhances safety, sustainability, and overall quality of life for residents. Roof and window upgrades are particularly impactful—helping  protect homes during storm season and potentially reducing insurance costs.” 

Launched on October 1st, the RRAP represents a $900,000 commitment by the Apopka CRA  to foster long-term community stability and growth. Additional projects are currently underway as the program continues to help homeowners make meaningful improvements throughout the redevelopment area. 

The RRAP aligns with the CRA’s long-term redevelopment plan by promoting neighborhood stability, enhancing property values, and supporting the City’s broader mission of economic development and community revitalization.
