Prairiegrass Home Decor relocates to larger downtown store in Perham – Perham Focus

— Prairiegrass Home Decor has relocated in downtown Perham.

“We opened (next to Richter’s) in the middle of March 2024 and closed a year to the day in March 2025 to relocate,” said owner Stacy Chesley. “Then we opened here two weeks later.”

The move came about after Chesley learned a larger retail space would be available in the heart of downtown Perham, 132 First Ave. S.

“There’s opportunity down here,” she said of Main Street. “There’s clothing, decor, restaurants, a hardware store … and it’s a great place to park, walk and shop at a variety of places.”

The new storefront offers about three times the space of her former location. The additional space has allowed Chesley to increase the variety of products offered at her store.

“We now have 20-plus vendors with us,” she said, noting some are from Perham or around the region. “Some vendors offer products that are hand-made, and others are pickers who go out and find vintage or antiques. It’s a whole variety.”

Chesley said there are no booth spaces that showcase specific vendors. Instead, the store offers organized spaces that show how pieces work together to really enhance a space. Those who drop by can peruse the store or receive specialized attention that can include recommendations or ideas for decorating.

In addition to finding items that accent a room or give it a theme, Prairiegrass Home Decor now offers crocheted dish and hand towels, unique signs and natural cleaning products.

“People may be surprised that we have natural household products, like laundry soap, cleaning soap and hand soaps,” she said.

To get the full vision of what Prairiegrass Home Decor offers, Chesley said people simply have to come in and “check it out.”

Chesley moved to Perham about eight years ago with her husband, Nate, and their two children, who are in middle school. She explained they opted to move to Perham from Colorado because the community offered so many opportunities, along with the tight-knit mentality often found in smaller cities.

Prairiegrass Home Decor is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They also have an online store for shopping at home,
